Eric Joyce (Anthony’s father) has died at the age of 75. HYM Philharmonic will all know Eric – he brought Anthony to Friday rehearsals. Eric died of asbestosis after years of exposure to asbestos as a builder. His most recent work was for Crossrail on the Elizabeth line.

Eric drove the instrument van on many HYM tours, and twice I was his co-driver - he was the perfect companion. As holder of a 4^th dan belt in karate, he led the HYM tour party in self-defence sessions on Jesolo beach. He was a proud bee-keeper. Among Eric’s acquaintances were Roman Abramovich and Colonel Gadaffi.

Love from HYM to Belinda and Anthony. I will go to Eric’s funeral, as a close friend and representing HYM.
